I am so excited to announce that the Cheesecake Chicks Cookbook is ready to be delivered to your kitchen!!! This took me a looooong time to complete, but in the end, seeing the final product, it was all worth it.
This cookbook has 2 parts: Cheesecakes and More Desserts. So, if you don't LOVE cheesecakes (because you are crazy), there is still a section of delectable desserts for you!! The "More Desserts" section is compiled of favorite desserts contributed by family and friends. These are desserts that have been passed down through families, such as "Aunt Sandra's Texas Sheet Cake," and my Grandma Pyper's Banana Bread.
The Cheesecake section has 18 cheesecakes, including such favorites as Pumpkin Cheesecake, Peanut Butter Cup, Turtle Cheesecake, Coconut Cheesecake and more. Our family tradition of cheesecake baking was started by my mom who quickly became famous for her cheesecakes in Wisconsin where I grew up. For my wedding my mom and 2 of her friends baked 30, yes, 30 Cheesecakes of different varieties. That is how the original term, "Cheesecake Chicks" began. My mom's best friend, Katie, was one of the original "Cheesecake Chicks" along with her sister Nancy. In 2006 my mom's friend Katie passed away from Ovarian Cancer and we were all devastated. She was an amazing person who helped so many people and influenced our lives greatly. In her honor a portion of the proceeds from the donations for the Cheesecake Chick cookbook will be donated to Gilda's Club in Madison WI:
"Gilda's Club Madison offers a welcoming community of FREE support for everyone touched by cancer—men, women, teens and children—along with their families and friends. Our innovative program is an essential complement to medical care, providing networking and support groups, workshops, education, and social activities."
The remainder of the proceeds will go toward our adoption travel expenses to bring our daughter home from Ethiopia.
